The FY 2025 Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program: Overseas Components offers funding to manage key international aspects of the YES program, which promotes mutual understanding and strengthens U.S. national security by fostering youth exchanges. The program includes two components: YES (bringing about 450 students from roughly 30 strategic countries to the U.S. for a school year) and YES Abroad (sending around 60 American high school students to those countries).
This cooperative agreement covers recruitment, selection, orientation, travel, parent liaison, and alumni support for both international and American participants. It also funds the placement and support for U.S. students going abroad. Support for international students while in the U.S. will be handled through separate awards.
